I wrap my worries up inside my duvet.
I remember that time
when we were lying underneath your bed sheets
with our arms wrapped around each other
and you said:
'We could be anywhere in the world right now.'
And so we imagined.
'We could be on top of a snowy mountain... in the middle of a desert... in the middle of a busy street in a big city... in a castle on top of a cliff by the sea'
So whenever I lay there
underneath my duvet
I remember what you said that time
when we were lying underneath your bed sheets
with our arms wrapped around each other
and we ignored the rest of the world.

Winter Canvas
Winter sprawls across the scenery like ink to paper
Every inch of the blank canvas was now covered with frost
And the pale sky was now painted black
and each star was etched upon the darkness
shining brighter than ever.

Eyelash Wishes
Wishing upon that rare shooting star
That eyelash laid upon your cheek bone
The flames upon the candles of your birthday cake
' Make a wish! '
- they always say.

Where the fuck's my dream come true?

Hello Winter
hands numbing and icicles forming
pulling over the wool and the furs
grab your boots and a hot mug of coffee
and shield from the bitter wind
that hits you like a slap in the face

Home Sweet Home
Sea mist stretches across the harbour
battling against the suns bright glow
Everything seems paler than yesterday.
When the colourful houses on top of the hill over there
cast over Falmouth like a brilliant rainbow
And the flags on every boat waved enthusiastically with the wind
But not today.
The weather here is strange.

Everything seems paler than yesterday.

But not today.

Moon
The bright light of the silver moon filters through the curtains,
and spreads across the duvet, like knife to butter.
And a soft breeze drifts through the window,
carrying your whispers from a million miles away.
I stare into the starlit sky, wondering.
Is there any hope?
And as I wonder, my eyelids begin to flutter,
as the night sky sings a soft lullaby.
and spreads across the duvet, like knife to butter.
And a soft breeze drifts through the window,
carrying your whispers from a million miles away.
I stare into the starlit sky, wondering.

Winter In Glasgow
It's winter, and the city is covered in frost. As the sun casts upon the streets, the scene glitters as the light shines upon the tiny ice crystals making everything look particularly beautiful. As the streets get busier, the air fills with steam as each person walking through the street exhales and their warm breathe combines with the cold atmosphere. And each footstep is taken with precaution as a maze of ice covers the pavements.

Sunset
I watched the sunset out of my window today. I gazed as the luminous orange sky spilt over the surface of the fields in the distance. Almost like bright lava erupting from a volcano, covering the perfect scene before me; every tree and animal was now drowned in the suns fiery colours.
As dusk approached, shadows sprawled across the fields, chasing away the orange glow. And darkness spread all over half of the world. And it was at that point where the stars and lamposts replaced the suns duty.
Then it was time to say goodnight.

Stargazing
We lay there, watching the clouds chase each other through the sky. And as the hours pass, darkness descends across the picturesque scene like a black curtain. And tiny diamonds sprout out of nowhere, one by one.
A shooting star makes an appearance, as a stream of light cascades across the blackness. One of the most beautiful things you will ever see. But only a second's worth of beauty, as the bright light in the sky quickly dissapears as if a flame from a candle is being blown out. With just one ounce of breath.
And it's gone.

Whispers
Silence and darkness sweep through the bedroom. The crescent moon and stars act as tiny bulbs in the navy sky as the light escapes through the gap in the curtains. I can see the outline of his face, gazing at my own. His lips convert into a smile as I trace them with my finger tip. Just like magic. And I kiss him. His soft lips pressed against mine. Then he holds me against him, his warmth transferring over to my cold body. And we lay there.
Thinking.
Whispering.
And then we fall asleep in each others arms. Being dragged away from perfect reality to be absorbed into our dreams.

Distance
Loneliness.
Missing those special people that ignite the intricate and rare smile across your face. Especially that certain person you can't bear to be apart from, but seeing one another is a rarity. Two entirely diverse lifestyles; one where you attempt to grin and bear it, the other that you desire but it's impossible to have. Hearing your voice but not seeing your expression. Where you're easily distracted by the surroundings I used to be a part of. Where we meet at train stations rather than at the doorstep. The pure desire to be able to just visit you, even for a couple of hours, without having to spend hours on a train. Hold your hand, smile, laugh, kiss, hug. Complete unfairness. All due to a drop of venom. The poison that spreads increasingly after every word and whisper. And affects those, even hundreds of miles away.
So I'll just stare out of my window, and pretend things are normal again for a little while.
